For those making euro currency tithes and offerings as well as gifts

The "Förderverein American Protestant Church Bonn-Bad Godesberg e.V." is an association with recognized public utility. Therefore, it can certify your voluntary donations for tax purposes. Such receipts are issued at the end of every year.

All you need to do to receive such a document is to designate your donation to the Förderverein (promoting association). This you can do via two ways.

• The most convenient way is via bank transfer:

• Alternatively, you can put your offering into an envelope before placing it in the offering plate. Tithe envelopes can be found in the pew. Mark your envelope "To the Förderverein APC", and add your name and address inside the envelope.

For those filing US Tax Returns

If you are filing a US Tax Return with the IRS, and you will be Itemizing your return (not taking the standard deduction), you may contribute to the APC and get tax deduction on your US Tax Return, Schedule A.

This is done via the Grants Program of The International Congregations/ Christians Abroad (located in New York). The APC has been part of this program since January 1995.

To make your contribution, make out your US check (cash cannot be accepted) to the "International Congregations/NCC" and mark "Grants Program" on the memo line. Then place it in a contribution envelope or offering plate in the usual way. It is best if your check contains your name, or you should print it on your check. At the end of the year, a statement will be sent to you for use in filing your tax return.

Note that if you are not going to file an itemized tax return, please do not make your contributions through the IC. There is a handling charge to the APC for this service and there would be no benefit to you. In this case, just place your contribution in the Sunday offering plate. The IC prefers that contributions are made monthly in order to reduce paper and mail, but we are happy to accept your contribution as you wish to give.
