For Youth

Welcome to the APC Youth Ministry page

American Protestant Church

Ministry to youth occurs through 3 types of activities. On a weekly basis, there is Tuesday and Thursday night youth group that serves youth between 11-18 years of age.  These nights consist of a shared meal, singing, playing, biblical teaching and a group discussion over the teaching content. There are generally about 20 youth per evening.  During the weeks, those working with the youth meet up with students on an individual basis to offer help, encouragement and mentoring.  Lastly, we have special events that happen throughout the year.  These events include social evenings, a ski trip, a service trip and more. Every other year we offer a Confirmation class that helps our youth to understand the basics of the Christian faith.

The APC youth program aims to be a L.I.G.H.T.  In being a light to the young people of Bonn, we strive to provide youth with a guiding example of how to think, love, and live out the example of Jesus in their current contexts. We aim also to be a light that draws in people because we are a warm and welcoming community that truly cares for one another.

…to equip God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until it reaches unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and becomes mature, attaining the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4.12-13)

The youth ministry programs are always open to visitors and people from outside the church community.  We aim to be open and honest about the Christian faith we teach and live – but hope that youth group is a place where students can ask questions about life and learn Jesus.
