It has two manuals and pedal, 22 stops and over 1,200 metal and wooden pipes from 3 cm to 3 meters in length. It has a very beautiful sound and is suitable for liturgical use as well as for use in concerts, which many important organists have experienced over the years, e.g. at benefit concerts. It becomes an integral part of the APC traditional worship services on the first and third Sundays of each month and again on high feast dates. It is also used to provide music for weddings and memorial services.
Once a year it is tuned by an organ builder and every 12 to 15 years it has to be completely cleaned and technically overhauled so that it can develop its beautiful sounds at any time.

Die Orgel in der Amerikanischen Kirche

Die Orgel in unserer Kirche wurde 1952 von der weltberühmten Bonner Orgelbaufirma Klais gebaut (opus 1308). Sie verfügt zwei Manuale und Pedal, 22 Register und über 1.200 Metall- und Holzpfeifen von 3 cm bis 3 Metern Länge. Sie verfügt über einen sehr schönen Klang und eignet sich sowohl für den liturgischen Gebrauch als auch für den Einsatz in Benefiz-Konzerten, was im Laufe der Jahre bereits viele bedeutende Organisten erfahren haben. Sie ist ein integraler Bestandteil der „traditional worship services“ der APC am ersten und dritten Sonntag jedes Monats und an hohen Festtagen, darüber hinaus erklingt sie bei Hochzeiten und Beerdigungen. Einmal im Jahr wird sie von einem Orgelbauer gestimmt und alle 12 bis 15 Jahre muss sie komplett gereinigt und technisch überholt werden, damit sie jederzeit ihre schönen Klänge entfalten kann.
